Latest LED Videowall for Arnold Clark Electric Vehicle Innovation Centre

Arnold Clark, who are Europe's largest independent car retailer, has recently taken delivery of the latest LED videowall for their new Electric Vehicle Innovation Centre in Glasgow.

HI Audio Visual are proud to have been awarded the audiovisual works, continuing to deliver our professional AV services and maintaining our trust and relationship with them.

In 2015, HI Audio Visual fitted out the new HQ for Arnold Clark. This was their first videowall for the building in Hillington, Glasgow.

It comprised of 9 ultra thin bezel NEC LCD videowall screens connected to a Onelan digital signage player. The pictures with the yellow walls shows the screens during the install and it still looks good today.LCD

Videowall vs. New Direct View LED Videowall

LCD videowalls do a decent job and are cheaper to buy than LED direct view videowalls, but they have some issues to consider when designing at system.

1. Replacing a screen usually means replacing all the screens. This is due to colour differences between new and older screens and model changes will also make it look different from the rest of the screens.
2. Although the bezels are slim, you cannot hide the joins between the screens. This might not be essential with all applications, but if the best video quality is desired then LCD is not for you. The screens typically have a 3.5mm bezel.
3. Energy Star ratings are not met due to many Eco Modes being switched off during operation.

In 2019, HI Audio Visual were asked by Arnold Clark to design, supply, install and support the latest audiovisual technology for their new Electric Vehicle Innovation Centre in Glasgow.

Arnold Clark want to deliver the best customer experience and use the latest audio visual technology to help achieve this.

During the 4 year gap since their first videowall purchase, the manufacturing and quality of the products have improved and so has the pricing making it comparable to the cost of the original videowall supplied in 2015.

The close proximity of the browsing customers meant that a finer pixel was needed and so a Full HD 1080p videowall was specified and it looks the part from inside and out when driving past on the Clydeside Expressway.

There is a 1080p digital signage player providing the images and videos with sound.

The EVIC also has interactive kiosks and an interactive table to help the visitors find the information they need.

There is also a large presentation room with NEC laser projector, Extron sound system with Sennheiser radio mics and a Barco ClickShare wireless presenter.
